KUWAIT CITY, April 11: A severe dust storm swept several regions of Kuwait on Thursday, causing a significant drop in visibility, particularly in open areas and along highways. Authorities issued warnings urging the public to exercise caution.

According to the Kuwait Meteorological Department, the dust storm was triggered by strong northwesterly winds, with speeds ranging between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour, and gusts occasionally exceeding 70 km/h in some locations.

The Ministry of Interior advised motorists to drive carefully and avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas with nearly zero horizontal visibility. The ministry also emphasized the importance of following traffic safety guidelines.

The dust storm is expected to persist until Friday morning, after which weather conditions are forecasted to gradually improve, with clearer visibility and decreasing wind speeds.
