Sharp Decline in Expat Bachelors Living in Family Residential Areas

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Director General of Kuwait Municipality, Eng. Saud Al-Dubous, confirmed that the percentage of bachelors residing in private and family housing areas has significantly declined this year compared to the previous one. Al-Dubous emphasized that the municipality’s teams regularly monitor and inspect properties in these areas to ensure they are not rented to non-families. He credited the success of the intensive field campaigns conducted by the inspection teams for this improvement.

Al-Dubous noted that property owners who had previously violated housing regulations have begun to comply, as the municipality has taken firm action, including cooperating with the Ministry of Electricity and Water to cut off utilities to offending properties. The municipality also continues to monitor these properties to ensure ongoing compliance.

In a related development, the Bachelors Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electricity and Water, disconnected electricity to 12 properties in Al-Firdaws that were found to be illegally rented to bachelors.
