Sheikh Adhbi Al-Sabah commends Tariq Al-Shammari’s soccer legacy

Al-Shammari presents a commemorative shield to Sheikh Adhbi Abdullah Al-Sabah in the presence of Sayyar and his brother Falah.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Sheikh Adhbi Abdullah Al-Sabah praised the distinguished career of former Kazma Club and Kuwait national team player Tariq Al-Shammari, highlighting his significant contributions to football. He described Al-Shammari as a role model, both in terms of sportsmanship and technical skill.

This recognition came during Sheikh Adhbi Al-Sabah’s reception of Al-Shammari, attended by his son, Sheikh Jarrah Adhbi Al-Sabah, and former National Assembly member Badr Sayyar Al-Shammari. The gathering was held in honor of Al-Shammari’s retirement, which took place on February 27 during the Kazma vs. Kuwait match in the Zain Premier League.

Sheikh Adhbi Al-Sabah expressed that Kuwaiti soccer has lost a talented player, but such is the nature of the sport. He wished Al-Shammari success in his future endeavors and expressed hope that he would continue contributing to the game as a coach or administrator, given his vast experience.

Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah also extended his gratitude to Al-Shammari, describing him as an exemplary figure for aspiring young players.

Meanwhile, Badr Sayyar Al-Shammari acknowledged Al-Shammari’s immense contributions to Kuwaiti soccer, both at the club and national levels, emphasizing that his efforts deserve appreciation.

In response, Tariq Al-Shammari expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sheikh Adhbi Al-Sabah for his warm reception and unwavering support. He also thanked Badr Sayyar Al-Shammari for standing by him throughout his career, acknowledging their continuous encouragement.
