KUWAIT CITY, Nov 4: The President of Kuwait and Asia Aquatics federations Sheikh Khaled Al-Bader Al-Sabah has commended the competitive and zealous atmosphere of the Asian round of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup organized by World Aquatics under the leadership of Hussein Al-Musallam, in collaboration with Asia Aquatics Federation.

Sheikh Khaled Al-Bader Al-Sabah disclosed that the Asia Aquatics Federation wishes to put into action a clear action plan for Asia to become the global symbol of aquatics. “The region has done so in the past by holding prominent positions and winning medals at the Olympic and international levels; thereby, affirming that the aquatics movement in Asia is heading towards the right direction,” he added.

He pointed out that sustaining aquatics growth in Asia hinges on several ideas, such as the ongoing construction of facilities to maintain the state-of-the-art status and achieving the desired outcome by keeping up with advancements in the technical level of water sports and through the Asia Aquatics Federation's continued assistance to nations that are unable to meet their commitments.

He said the Kuwait Aquatics Federation is keen on providing all the necessary facilities and overcoming obstacles that the water sports are currently facing, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, to create the appropriate atmosphere and capabilities to guarantee continuous progress regionally and internationally, especially after achieving new records in the name of Kuwait and winning many medals in the recent Arab Championship held in Cairo, Egypt.

He hopes the coming period will witness more progress and sports prosperity in Kuwait in line with the renaissance that the country is experiencing in all fields under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
