Sheikh Khaled with Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila

KUWAIT CITY, April 19: The President of the Kuwaiti and Asian Aquatics Federations, Sheikh Khaled Al-Badr Al-Sabah, met the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila.

According to a press release, they engaged in a friendly exchange of ideas on various topics related to local sports, particularly on enhancing the role of families in supporting their children’s athletic pursuits and encouraging them to engage in physical activities.

Sheikh Khaled Al-Badr expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, highlighting the shared understanding of the importance of continuing efforts to raise family awareness and provide athletes with the psychological and moral support they need in coordination with relevant sports authorities.

They also highlighted the importance of encouraging all family members to engage in sports, due to their positive impact on public health and their role in preventing negative behaviours, especially in light of growing societal pressures that may lead youth astray.

Sheikh Khaled Al-Badr affirmed that the reform and development efforts led by the wise political leadership must be supported by continuous, serious, and sincere efforts from all members of society to preserve family cohesion.

He noted that the family is the true foundation for raising a generation that is fully aware of its rights and responsibilities under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
