MONPAZIER, France, Sept 8: Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of the King of Bahrain for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and leader of the Royal Bahraini Endurance Team, claimed victory at the World Endurance Championship. The championship took place in Monpazier, France, where Sheikh Nasser covered a distance of 160 kilometers in a time of 8 hours, 32 minutes, and 00 seconds.

This achievement marks Sheikh Nasser’s consecutive World Championship title, having previously won the title in Boudheib, UAE, in 2023. The UAE team secured the runner-up position, with Saeed Ahmed Jaber Al Harbi finishing second in 8 hours, 32 minutes, and 51 seconds.

Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain, attended the championship and highlighted Bahrain’s significant progress in endurance racing. He commended the sport’s advancement and Bahrain’s growing prominence on the global stage.

Reflecting on his victory, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad shared, “From the start of my preparations, my sole goal was to win the world title. I devised a strategic plan despite knowing the fierce competition from global riders.” He acknowledged the challenging conditions, including heavy rains and tough stages, but credited his experience and strategic planning for securing the title and reaffirming Bahrain’s standing in endurance sports. The World Endurance Championship featured 118 riders from 39 countries, competing over 160 kilometers in six stages.
