KUWAIT CITY, Sep 12: At dawn, Salmiya was the scene of a major security incident involving a shootout between the Criminal Investigations Department (Hawalli Investigations) and an armed suspect.
The officer was wounded on the ear by a suspect who tried to flee into nearby buildings. Hawalli Governorate investigators quickly surrounded and pursued the suspect, eventually arresting him and confiscating the firearm used in the incident. The suspect is currently under investigation. The injured officer was taken to the hospital, received treatment, and has since been discharged.
