KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART), Eng. Khaled Al-Osaimi, announced on Sunday that six contracts are currently underway to maintain roads across the country, including main, express, and border routes.
In a press statement, Al-Osaimi confirmed that two projects have already commenced, with the remaining contracts set to begin in the coming days. He noted that the focus has been placed on repairing the most damaged roads to minimize traffic accidents and fatalities.
The contracts encompass comprehensive maintenance of expressways and internal streets across all six governorates. Al-Osaimi highlighted that agreements have been made with the UAE to supply concrete materials, ensuring the use of high-quality resources for the projects.
He further explained that the signed contracts and tenders underwent more than a year of detailed study and evaluation to ensure their viability. Extensive planning and preparation were conducted, including assessments of the engineers' capabilities to manage these critical infrastructure projects effectively.
The initiative reflects PART's commitment to enhancing road safety and infrastructure across Kuwait. (KUNA)
