KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The Criminal Court has handed down sentences in a case involving the leak of high school exams, convicting a male and female Kuwaiti citizens, an expatriate, and three siblings who are bedouns to 10 years in prison and a fine of 42,000 dinars. Additionally, a female teacher was sentenced to one year in prison for her role in the scandal.
The defendants faced charges of disclosing confidential information and money laundering, after being arrested last year. Investigations revealed that the group had been receiving 50 dinars from each student in exchange for access to leaked exams.
The security services had previously apprehended the accused, along with others involved in similar cases, on suspicions of leaking Ministry of Education exams and selling them through social media platforms in exchange for payments.
