Six Wanted Criminals Among 94 Arrested in Sweeping Police Raids

KUWAIT CITY, April 29: The General Department of Public Security Police carried out a sweeping series of security and traffic enforcement campaigns across multiple governorates last week, resulting in a significant number of arrests and law enforcement actions.

According to official sources, the department executed 1,637 security operations between Sunday, April 20, and Saturday, April 26, 2025. These efforts led to the arrest of 94 individuals, including six wanted for criminal convictions. Additionally, 79 absconders from sponsors, 70 were found without proper identification, and 93 individuals were detained for expired residency permits.

Authorities also apprehended five suspects linked to theft cases and recovered 150 vehicles sought by judicial authorities. All detainees and seized vehicles have been referred to the appropriate legal bodies for further processing.

Beyond law enforcement, the department also addressed public safety and humanitarian concerns, resolving nine public disputes and providing aid to 437 needy individuals.

On the traffic front, officers recorded a staggering 3,848 violations, which included 19 cases of unauthorized parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities. Moreover, 140 traffic accidents were addressed during the same period.

The General Department of Rescue Police emphasized its continued commitment to maintaining public order, enhancing road safety, and ensuring swift action against lawbreakers.
