KUWAIT CITY, April 2: Meteorologist Issa Ramadan stated that Kuwait is currently in the "preceding dust storm" period, a phase of atmospheric instability that comes before the dust storm season, which officially begins in mid-April.
He explained that this period is marked by the passage of air fronts that lead to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and downward winds that may stir up dust in certain areas.
Addressing the recent dust wave in the Salmi area, Ramadan reassured that it is temporary and will not spread. However, he noted that weather conditions will remain unstable, with the possibility of more severe disturbances on Thursday.
He predicted that cloudy to partly cloudy skies will persist until Sunday, with a chance of thunderstorms on April 3. Over the weekend, cloud cover will continue, and temperatures are expected to drop slightly after a recent rise. Additionally, horizontal visibility may decrease, sea waves could rise significantly, and southeasterly winds will vary from light to moderate, occasionally becoming strong.
