KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: The Ministry of Social Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Civil Service Commission’s decision on the "presence fingerprint" system for all employees without exception. Acting Undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi emphasized this during a ceremony honoring former leader Abdulaziz Sari, held at the union headquarters.
Dr. Al-Ajmi acknowledged the challenges faced by certain employees, such as engineers, specialists, and researchers, whose job nature might hinder the use of the presence fingerprint. However, he stated that the decision will be uniformly applied until further clarifications from the Civil Service Commission are provided, potentially leading to exemptions for specific roles.
“We believe in the role of the union and understand its demands and its defense of the interests of employees. We stand hand in hand with it, as we are all in one boat and our primary goal is to serve the nation and the citizen,” Dr. Al-Ajmi stated, praising Yahya Al-Dosari, head of the Social Affairs Union, for his contributions and leadership.
The Labor Demands Committee and the Employee Affairs Committee will meet monthly, including the presence of the union president and members, to address employee concerns and work towards greater achievements.
Regarding supervisory appointments, Dr. Al-Ajmi confirmed that the appointments would be finalized soon, with the committees working diligently to issue the decisions within the next few days.
At the ceremony, Dr. Al-Ajmi expressed his appreciation for Abdulaziz Sari, highlighting his significant contributions and lasting impact on the Ministry of Social Affairs. Yahya Al-Dosari, head of the Ministry of Social Affairs Workers Union, praised Sari for his dedication to serving employees and advancing the ministry's accomplishments.
Engineer Sabah Al-Aqab, Vice President of the General Federation of Kuwait Workers, also commended Sari for his cooperative spirit and commitment to union work. Sari, in turn, thanked his colleagues for the honor, expressing hope for their continued success in both their professional and personal lives.
