Speech of ‘Negatives are fading, achievements are coming’

The speech of His Highness during the last ten days of Ramadan was different from the usual rhetoric of previous years, as it offered a fresh perspective. The speech dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s in all matters related to Kuwait and its institutions. He outlined a clear vision for the future based on his active follow-up, guidance, and strong leadership, with a firm stance on accountability for any official who strays from the path of legal and executive integrity.

In his speech, His Highness highlighted both the achievements that have been realized and those still underway, stressing that progress is achievable if there is willpower, determination, honesty, and the application of a national conscience. He was clear when he said, “The negatives are fading, and the achievements are coming. We must remain patient to reap their fruits soon.”

All of the negative issues mentioned were evident to the Kuwaiti people, who have called for their resolution for decades. The ruler listened to the voice of his people and directed all state agencies to enforce the law in all matters within their jurisdiction so that there would be no injustice. In this context, His Highness urged his fellow citizens to “resolve to open a new chapter, guided by the spirit of love, optimism, tolerance, understanding, and the abandonment of all harmful practices that threaten the national fabric.”

There is no doubt that the stability and security of nations begin with society leaving behind the causes of discord. As His Highness ordered, “the coming period will be marked by reform, construction, and successes for the benefit of the nation and its citizens.” It is only fair that citizens respond to the aspirations of their Amir by working to achieve these goals, and support their leadership, which is exerting every effort to fulfill its promises. This can only become a reality if there is a collective effort that prioritizes the national public interest above personal desires. Over the past decades, we have experienced many bitter moments.

There have been successes, but the negatives were often overshadowed by the blending of personal interests with the public good. The vocabulary used in His Highness’s speech, along with the optimism felt by Kuwaitis, affirms that we have a ruler unlike any other. This ruler is not only capable of turning his words into action but also ensures diligent follow-up and holds accountable those who must answer for their actions. He plants flowers, the fragrance of which wafts throughout the country. All officials need to adhere to the vision His Highness the Amir has outlined, particularly in areas that promote sustainable development.

His Highness has clearly identified key sectors such as health, education, and housing as essential to this development. Sustainable development can only be achieved through modernized laws, and His Highness has directed the government to “complete the preparation of legislation and laws whose implementation will demonstrate to citizens the government’s commitment to the nation’s interests and their own. In addition, the government is tasked with following up the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding to achieve strategic partnerships.”

No loyal citizen of this nation doubts that the points raised in the speech during the last ten days of Ramadan should be in the minds of every citizen and official. These include respecting the law and its strict enforcement, as well as confronting any attempts to undermine national unity, which is the most important pillar of a nation worthy of the loyalty and dedication of its people. Indeed, the speech of the last ten days serves as a clear plan of action with lofty directives. His Highness was explicit in directing the government to work towards achieving these goals, stating that we “look forward to implementing them in the near future.” In essence, it was a speech on “planned negatives and future achievements.”
