The sad news was shared by Mitchell's family in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram over the weekend.

In the heartfelt announcement, the family expressed their grief, stating, “With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend.” The statement highlighted Mitchell's versatile career, portraying various characters, including an Olympic hopeful, an apocalypse survivor, an astronaut, a superhero’s father, and four distinct Star Trek roles.

Born on Nov 25, 1974, in Toronto, Canada, Mitchell leaves behind a legacy as a dedicated father to his two children, Lilah and Kallum, whom he shared with his wife Susan. Described as "Susan's partner and, more than anything else, a proud father," Mitchell was commended for his diligence and hard work in all aspects of life.

Despite facing ALS-related challenges, Mitchell's commitment to being a positive and playful influence in his children's lives was evident.
