KUWAIT CITY, Dec 09: Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced the conclusion of its platinum sponsorship in the NEXUS- Technology, Innovation, and Startup Event under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of State for Communications, Mr. Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar. stc’s sponsorship came in line with the company’s pioneering position in the communications and information technology sector and its strategic vision to enable the digital transformation of companies in the private and government sectors. The sponsorship also comes under the Company’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program, with a focus on supporting local entrepreneurs and start-ups, as well as empowering the younger generation.
The opening ceremony of the 3-day event that gathered over 60 leading companies, startups and experts, took place at The Arena, 360 Mall in Kuwait, in the presence of the Minister of State for Communications, Mr. Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al-Omar, and was attended by engineer Muataz Aldharrab, CEO of stc, and other members of stc’s executive management team.
Through its role as a platinum sponsor of the event, stc aimed to promote the impact of technological growth and innovation in today’s evolving digital world, which aligns with the Company’s ongoing strategy to enable digital transformation in Kuwait. The event featured interactive exhibitions, conferences, and workshops on the latest developments and trends in sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, and health tech. NEXUS also served as a platform for experts to share their views and opinions on various aspects related to the industry, while providing students with key information regarding some of the advanced technological solutions available in today’s evolving digital world.
stc participated in several key discussions during the event about trends in the telecom and ICT fields. One of the discussions, titled, “How AI, Data, IoT Will Shape the Future”, included engineer Nasser Al-Hamlan, General Manager of Network Planning and Design at stc as well as the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority in Kuwait, Eng. Abdullah Al-Ajmi. Al-Hamlan shared his expert opinion on the impact technologies today will have on the future, as well as the progression of technological evolution.

Abdullah AlNajdi from stc’s Public Relations Team moderated the session, asking the panelists different questions about their journey to success in the inspireU program, as well as their businesses in general.
As for solutions by stc, the specialized business arm of Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, the Company showcased its latest networking and connectivity solutions. These included smart solutions designed to support SMEs through Maktabi, which offers flexible and cost-effective packages on bundled solutions. solutions by stc also highlighted its advanced cloud-management solutions through Modar, a solution that addresses all business requirements through secure network connectivity.
During the event, Mohammed Al-Farsi, Director of Telecom Products Management at solutions by stc, delivered a workshop highlighting the features and use cases of Maktabi and Modar. The workshop, titled “Smart workplaces, smarter networks”, covered the range of offerings and solutions that the Company’s two innovative platforms provided. Al-Farsi also demonstrated the different ways in which the two platforms can assist businesses in reaching and achieving certain security and networking objectives.
As part of its sponsorship, stc and it subsidiaries had a dedicated booth at the event where it showcased its latest innovations, cutting-edge technologies, and customer-centric solutions, highlighting its role as a leader in digital transformation. Attendees visiting the booth had the opportunity to interact with stc’s experts and learn more about the Company’s strategic initiatives that aim to bridge the gap between technology and daily life. And in line with our vision to empower the young generation in the field of digital transformation, stc sponsored the Cyber Security Hackathon held at the exhibition and honored the winners within the framework of promoting innovation, supporting youth and benefiting from advanced technologies.
