KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The Ministry of Interior has issued a directive prohibiting MOI employees from appearing in media outlets or sharing their photos and personal information on social media platforms. The circular emphasizes the need to maintain confidentiality in all work-related matters and prohibits the dissemination of sensitive information, documents, or images related to incidents or official duties.
The directive specifically forbids personnel from publishing any content showcasing themselves in uniform or sharing personal matters through any form of communication, including electronic and social media. Additionally, it bans statements or interviews in any media outlets or social platforms without prior authorization from the General Department of Security Relations and Media.
The Ministry clarified that this decision is aimed at safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of security operations and preventing the misuse of information or images that could compromise security or harm the institution’s reputation.
All staff of the Ministry have been instructed to strictly adhere to the circular. Any violations will lead to disciplinary or criminal actions, as appropriate, with offenders being referred to the competent authority for investigation.
