Student’s guardian threatens, insults officials of exam panel

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: In a concerning incident in the Farwaniya Educational District, the head of an examination committee and his deputy were subjected to insults, slander, and death threats by a student’s guardian. According to informed sources, the altercation occurred when the student was denied entry into the examination hall for arriving late, with the specified start time being 8:00 am. The sources revealed that the guardian attempted to pressure the committee’s administration to allow his son to take the exam despite the delay. When his request was denied in adherence to ministerial regulations, the situation escalated into a heated verbal exchange.
The confrontation culminated in serious threats directed at the examination staff. Following the incident, the committee head and his deputy filed an official complaint at Al-Firdous police station, urging authorities to take appropriate legal measures to safeguard them and ensure the protection of examination committees moving forward. The Ministry of Education emphasized its commitment to strictly enforcing regulations, particularly those related to exam schedules. Officials called on parents to cooperate with school administrations, highlighting the importance of adhering to established guidelines. This incident underscores the challenges faced by educational professionals, especially during high-pressure examination periods.
