Students stipends hiked by 50%

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: The Ministry of Higher Education reaffirmed its commitment to the Cabinet’s directive to coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to increase the financial allocations for students studying abroad by 50 percent, ensuring that the adjustment is implemented without any deviation from the specified amount, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a detailed statement, the Ministry clarified that upon reviewing the disbursements, it was observed that some of the approved values did not align with the 50 percent increase outlined in the Cabinet’s decision. This discrepancy was highlighted by the Financial Controllers Authority.

Consequently, the allocations were adjusted to precisely match the amounts specified in the ministerial decision, ensuring that all payments comply with the exact amounts approved for students in their respective scholarship countries. The Ministry emphasized its ongoing dedication to safeguarding the interests of all its scholarship students, both male and female. It underscored that it remains committed to closely monitoring their progress abroad, supporting them throughout their educational journey until they achieve the qualifications necessary to enter the labor market and contribute to the development and prosperity of Kuwait.
