KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The Sulaibikhat handball team secured its place in the Premier League with a commanding 37-26 victory over Yarmouk at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Halls Complex in the final round of the 58th "Merged" League. In another notable result, Al-Nasr triumphed 37-32 over Al-Tadamon.
League standings:
Kuwait Club 24 points, Kazma 21, Burgan 19, Sulaibikhat 16, Al-Arabi 16, Al-Salmiya 14 (with all points from the preliminary round retained for the Premier League, played over three stages), Al-Nasr 14, Al-Qurain 12, Al-Qadsiya 12, Khaitan 8, Fahaheel 8, Al-Tadamon 3, Yarmouk 2, and Al-Sahel 0 (playing in the First Division League over two stages with points retained from the preliminary round).Sulaibikhat Manager Hussein Saywan extended his congratulations to the club’s board of directors and fans on the team's qualification for the Premier League. He expressed gratitude to the management for their unwavering support throughout the season.
"We have a plan in place to prepare the team for the Premier League during the league's suspension for the Arab Cup in May," Saywan said. "An external training camp will be held in Bahrain and Qatar from April 24 to May 5, as the league will be paused ten days before the Arab Cup."
Saywan also praised the team's performance in the preliminary round, highlighting the success of the Cairo training camp before the season, the activation tournament in December, and the hard work of the technical staff and players.
