Supreme Committee decides to withdraw Kuwaiti nationality from 2,899 individuals

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: The Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality held a meeting on Thursday, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior. During the meeting, the committee decided to withdraw and revoke Kuwaiti nationality from 2,899 cases, which will be presented to the Council of Ministers for further action.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti nationality in two cases due to dual citizenship, in accordance with Articles 9 and 10 of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959.

The committee also resolved to withdraw Kuwaiti nationality certificates in 408 cases, based on Article 21 bis A of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments. These cases involve fraud, false statements, and forgery, including individuals who acquired nationality through dependency.

Furthermore, the committee decided to revoke Kuwaiti citizenship in 2,489 cases under Article 13, Paragraph 4 of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law No. 15 of 1959 (Article Eight) and its amendments. These cases span 54 different countries.
