Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, presides over the 21st Supreme Traffic Council meeting with members from various relevant agencies.

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, presided over the 21st meeting of the Supreme Traffic Council today. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Interior, saw the participation of members from various ministries and agencies involved in traffic management.

At the commencement of the meeting, Lieutenant General Al-Nawaf extended a warm welcome to the attendees and conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior. Sheikh Fahd expressed his best wishes for the Council members, emphasizing their role in devising effective and practical solutions to address traffic congestion and related issues.

The meeting featured a comprehensive visual presentation by Brigadier Salem Al-Ajmi, the Secretary of the Supreme Traffic Council and Chairman of the Public Transport Committee. Brigadier Al-Ajmi highlighted the committee’s findings on the challenges and shortcomings affecting public transport services, particularly buses, in Kuwait. He also outlined the committee’s proposals and recommendations aimed at enhancing public transport services to align with Kuwait’s vision of becoming a leading financial and commercial hub.

Lieutenant General Al-Nawaf underscored the security leadership’s commitment to fostering collaboration among governmental and civil entities. He stressed the importance of evaluating all proposals designed to improve traffic flow, including innovative engineering solutions for roads and intersections, public awareness and education initiatives, and stricter enforcement of traffic penalties.

The Undersecretary reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to addressing traffic issues through a coordinated approach, aligning with Kuwait’s development goals and striving for effective government management and advanced infrastructure.
