Syria cancels friendly with Kuwait as Sheikh Hamad visits team training

DOHA, Dec 7: The Syrian national team has apologized for canceling its scheduled friendly match against the Kuwaiti on December 15. The two teams had planned to meet during Kuwait’s training camp in Doha, Qatar.

Kuwait continues its preparations for the upcoming "Khaleeji Zain 26", which Kuwait will host from December 21 to January 3. The team will play its first friendly match of the camp against Yemen tomorrow, followed by a second match against Lebanon on December 12.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Qatari Minister of Sports and Youth, visited the Kuwaiti team’s training session to offer his support. Ayman Al-Husseini, member of the Kuwait Football Federation Board of Directors and head of the national team delegation, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Hamad for his continuous support and dedication to the Al-Azraq camp, highlighting the strong relationship between Kuwait and Qatar.

Al-Husseini also met with Mansour Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Qatar Football Association, to thank him and the Qatari Federation for their hospitality and assistance. During the meeting, Al-Husseini presented Al-Ansari with a commemorative shield.
