KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Mohammad Al-Mashaan has inspected the new airport project in the presence of the members of the Board of Directors of the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) headed by Essam Dawood Ahmed Al-Marzouq to personally look into the latest developments and follow up the implementation to move towards expediting the completion of the project. Al-Mashaan affirmed her commitment in developing the infrastructure of the air transport sector in the country by adopting the best international standards in the civil aviation industry. She also stressed the need for coordinated efforts to address pending issues related to the new passenger terminal (T2) project. She called for speedy completion of the project with the required quality and efficiency according to the approved technical specifications and adherence to the timetable, emphasizing the importance of coordination with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in this regard. She added the government is keen on improving capabilities and providing the necessary facilities to complete the project and operate all airport services and facilities as per the timetable.
Progress
A visual presentation on the progress of the project was also conducted during the minister’s visit. The minister clarified that this visit aims to closely monitor the progress of the project, and identify and overcome challenges. She added this is one of the ambitious national projects that aim to develop and modernize the country’s infrastructure in line with the New Kuwait 2035 vision and transformation of the country into a regional and global financial and commercial center that attracts investment. She affirmed that an agreement has been reached to complete the project as scheduled.
Meanwhile, Al-Marzouq expressed his appreciation for the vital role that national professionals and young people play in the implementation of the project in accordance with the principles of professionalism, competence, and accountability.
