Tajik residents in Kuwait visit embassy to vote in parliamentary elections
Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Dr. Zubaydullah Zubaydov casts his vote at the embassy

KUWAIT CITY, March 3: The Embassy of Tajikistan on Sunday opened its doors for its citizens residing in the country and who meet the electoral conditions to choose who will represent them in the Tajik Parliament, which consists of 63 members; coinciding with the parliamentary elections that their country witnessed on the same day. Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Dr. Zubaydullah Zubaydov expressed his deep gratitude to the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior for providing all facilities to the embassy to make this electoral process a success.

In a press statement on the sidelines of his participation in the elections, Zubaydov affirmed that the embassy opened its doors to Tajik citizens residing in the country, those entitled to vote according to the Constitution and are registered in the embassy lists whose number is estimated at 100. A total of seven parties, including the ruling party -- the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan -- competed in these elections in three states. Zubaydov explained that the embassy opened its doors at 8:00 am and closed the ballot boxes at 8:00 pm, indicating the votes were counted in the presence of representatives of the community and the results were sent to the main headquarters of the Election Commission in Dushanbe
