KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Women's Voluntary Society for Community Development held a symposium on Sunday titled "Take Care of Yourself, You Deserve a Lot" to raise awareness about breast cancer. This event was organized in collaboration with Dasma Health City and the Kuwait Association for Breast Cancer and Reconstructive Surgery.

Sheikha Fadia Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Chairperson of the Society, stated in an interview with KUNA that the organization is committed to hosting campaigns and specialized symposiums every October to promote awareness about breast cancer in partnership with public benefit societies. She explained that the symposium aims to enhance preventive awareness and support early detection of breast cancer, focusing on community collaboration to organize events that benefit the public.

Dr. Mona Al-Qattan, Secretary of the Society, emphasized the organization's dedication to family issues and its commitment to actively participating in official events that address concerns specific to women and children. She noted that the awareness seminar would feature contributions from various public benefit societies and share experiences from women who have recovered from the disease, highlighting how they overcame it and embraced a positive new life.

The seminar included contributions from the Kuwait Association for Breast Cancer Surgery and Plastic Reconstruction, represented by Dr. Sarah Al-Youha, who discussed the disease, its types, prevention methods, and techniques for plastic breast reconstruction. Additionally, psychotherapist Ali Al-Sultan from Dasma Health City provided insights on mental health, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation and psychological treatment for patients. (KUNA)
