KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The General Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring and investigating all corruption incidents, including those reported by the media, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a video posted on its official X platform account, Nazaha emphasized that filing reports is a critical tool in preventing corruption by providing information on crimes, attempts to commit crimes, or efforts to conceal criminal activities through the destruction of evidence and serious financial violations.
Nazaha stressed the importance of immediate reporting when there is a suspicion of a corruption crime, particularly when there is substantial evidence, a witness, or a victim. The agency highlighted key crimes falling under its jurisdiction, including bribery, money laundering, forgery, corruption, and illicit financial gain. In its statement, Nazaha reassured whistleblowers that their identity will be protected throughout the investigation process, and they will receive both administrative and legal protection, as well as personal protection for themselves and their families if necessary. The agency clarified that the law applies to individuals from the Director level up to the highest-ranking officials in legislative, executive, and judicial authorities. Reports of corruption can be submitted in person with supporting documents or through email. Following verification, the report will be referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation. Nazaha concluded by encouraging the public to report corruption without hesitation, affirming that “the initiative is yours, the protection is yours, and the rest is up to us.”
