Taylor Swift's next move: New music likely on the horizon after ‘Eras Tour’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: Since Super Bowl LVII, Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, have remained out of the spotlight. While Kelce takes time to decide whether he will return for next season, Swift is getting some well-deserved rest after an incredibly busy year.

Swift wrapped up her record-breaking "Eras Tour" in December after 149 shows worldwide. During her tour, she also released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which features several songs inspired by her relationship with Kelce.

The album made history, spending 17 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard music chart and breaking numerous streaming records. Despite earning five Grammy nominations, Swift left the awards ceremony earlier this month without any wins.

As fans speculate about what’s next for the 35-year-old singer, Swift dropped a major clue through legal filings. Over the past few years, Swift has been re-recording her earlier albums to regain control over her music. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Reputation: Taylor's Version and Taylor Swift: Taylor's Version of her 2006 self-titled debut album.

On January 23, Swift filed to extend the trademark for "Taylor Swift Taylor’s Version." She also filed a Request for Extension of Time to File a Statement of Use, seeking a six-month extension for both Reputation Taylor's Version and Taylor Swift: Taylor's Version. This marks the fifth and final extension. According to these filings, fans could expect both albums to drop as soon as July, but no later than August.

However, Swift could choose to restart the three-year period by filing new applications once the extension expires.

Swift is known for keeping her plans under wraps when it comes to new music. Even Kelce knows to stay silent about her work. During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, the 10-time Pro Bowler hinted that new music might be on the way, though he couldn’t confirm anything. "I hear music everywhere," Kelce said, but added, "I can’t say" what may be in the works. He did share that he serves as a “motivator” for Swift while she’s working, saying, "I’ll never chime in, but I’m here to support it. I’m here to see where it can go."
