KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Media spokesperson and member of the Kuwaiti Search and Rescue team, Sheikha Al-Khubeizi, announced the distribution of approximately 21,000 food parcels to expatriate families in areas which were subjected to total lockdown and others, who were affected by the spread of Covid-19, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

She indicated, the Kuwait Search and Rescue team was part and parcel of the ‘Faza’a Al-Kuwait’ during the corona pandemic, which is the distribution of more than 30,000 food baskets.

Al-Khubeizi added since the end of last March, the team which is affiliated with the Abdullah Al-Nuri Charitable Society has participated in preparing all food baskets and distributing them to the needy families in lockdown areas in cooperation with the Najat Charity Society and the International Islamic Charitable Organization.

She explained the distribution of food baskets was done in a simple manner at the beginning of the campaign by distributing baskets to families registered on the campaign’s electronic link in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Special Forces team in Khaitan and Farwaniya, Mahboula, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Al-Riqqa and Jahra and in other places at an average of four thousand baskets per day. Al-Khubeizi revealed Faza’a Al-Kuwait has the intention to work beyond the corona pandemic in coordination with the concerned authorities.
