On Friday, authorities from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office apprehended a 14-year-old boy in Miramonte, California, for the alleged murder of his parents and the attempted murder of his younger sister. The identity of the teen, being a minor, will remain undisclosed. The Mayor, John Zanoni, reported that the tragic incident occurred on December 27. The teenager is facing two charges of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Initially, the teen had claimed that an intruder had broken into their home, assaulted his parents, and fled in a pickup truck. However, upon investigation, inconsistencies emerged in his narrative, and it was determined that he had fabricated the entire story. The 911 call made by the 14-year-old led authorities to the residence, where they discovered the lifeless bodies of Lui Yang and Si Fang, both 37 years old, and an 11-year-old girl in critical condition.

Mayor Zanoni revealed that the teen had employed "multiple weapons" in the attack on his family. Fortunately, a younger brother of the suspect, aged 7, who was also present in the house, escaped physical harm. Expressing the magnitude of the tragedy during a press conference on Friday, Zanoni urged parents to be vigilant about their children's mental well-being. The investigation is ongoing, including inquiries into the boy's behavior at school.
