KUWAIT CITY, July 22: The Ministry of Communications will transition from copper network telephone services to fiber optic technology in several areas, according to Dr. Ahmed Al-Hussaini, the ministry's official spokesman. The areas affected by this change include Salmiya, Ras Al-Salmiya, Salwa, Rumaithiya, Al-Bidaa, Fintas Agricultural, and Kuwait City.

Dr. Al-Hussaini announced that the copper network services in these regions will be discontinued on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The new fiber optic network will offer more advanced and efficient telephone services.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to visit their local switchboard offices as soon as possible to request the installation of the ONT fiber device. The ministry has announced a free installation period, which will conclude at the end of this month.
