Temporary biometric exemption for diplomats, students, and patients abroad

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Ministry of Interior has announced a temporary exemption from the requirement to take biometric fingerprints for students on scholarships and their companions, patients receiving treatment abroad and their companions, as well as diplomatic corps workers, foreign office staff, and their companions. The exemption will last until their return to the country, at which point the biometric process will be completed at airports or in the General Department of Criminal Evidence offices in the governorates.

In a statement issued yesterday, Tuesday, the ministry clarified that citizens abroad for study or medical treatment at their own expense must provide proof to the Kuwaiti embassies for approval and temporary postponement of fingerprinting. The ministry emphasized that this decision aims to facilitate transactions for citizens living abroad while maintaining security standards and ensuring that procedures continue smoothly.
