Meanwhile, the Director of the Legal Department Hussein Al-Ajmi said, “Changing the location of the slaughterhouse to a temporary tent market or adding any conditions or texts, is up to the Municipal Council, while the signing of the contracts will be with state property. Also, Engineer Hassan Al-Kandari, a member of the Municipality’s Tents Markets Committee, said, “The current site belongs to the Kuwait Municipality, but the previous one belonged to the State Property Administration.”

He stressed that the KD 50 fee collected by the municipality is not a rental value, but rather an estimate in exchange for cleaning, security, and monitoring services for the market. Eng. Al-Kandari revealed that the market in the past lacked safety requirements, but in the new location, there is coordination with the fire department, and the operation will be different from the previous one. In addition, the council approved the request of Municipal Council member Fuhaid Al-Muwaizri for priority distribution to be given to plot holders with the same number. On the other hand, the council approved two initiatives for the design and supervision of the wall and gates of the Sulaibikhat Cemetery and the development of Othman bin Affan Street in Kuwait City, as well as a request to modify the area of the Environment Public Authority’s site (formerly the Shuwaikh police station).

This is based on the request of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy to reallocate the location of the main electricity transfer station in the Egaila area, Block 6, in addition to agreeing to respond to the question submitted by the Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Council Khaled Al-Mutairi regarding the Kabd Road extending from the Sulaibiya Bridge to livestock pens in Kabd.

The Council kept on the table the question submitted by member Fahid Al-Muwaizri regarding the removal of the tent market in the Rai area, which was referred to the technical committee for the response to the question submitted by member Ismail Behbehani regarding the evaluation criteria for highway projects for innovation and development.

The municipality explained that the development of any road must be recommended by the master plan, especially since there are terms of reference that the municipality reviews before launching the project. The council returned a response to the questions submitted by member Abdullah Al-Enezi to the executive body regarding the wastewater purification station in the Mutlaa Housing Project and its complementary works of construction, operation, and maintenance, and regarding the main entrance and exit to the city of Jaber Al- Ahmad, opposite the northwestern Sulaibikhat area.
