Kuwait City, 23 Sept: The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) announced its strategic partnership and support for the 10th eGovernment Forum. The Kuwaiti Federation of Engineering Offices and Consulting Houses (KFEOCH) and Razen Events organize the event under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Fahad Ali Zaied Al-Shuala, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Communications Affairs. EGOV10 convenes from 22 to 24 October at the Al-Baraka Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

EGOV10 addresses Cloud computing, which takes data centers to new heights, provides new possibilities, and constitutes a strong lever for digital transformation initiatives in government and private institutions.

CAIT has already started implementing its Transition Strategy toward the Cloud

Commenting on the participation of CAIT, Dr. Ammar Al-Hussaini, Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology, said, "To begin with, I would like to thank His Excellency Mr. Fahad Ali Zayed Al-Shula, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Communications Affairs, for sponsoring the forum. We highly appreciate His Excellency's constant support to CAIT in particular and to the technology sector in Kuwait in general."

Al-Hussaini added, "EGOV10 is held this year under the motto "The Future of Cloud Computing in Kuwait" in line with the direction of the Central Agency for Information Technology to implement the transition strategy for cloud computing in government agencies according to the Kuwaiti government's cloud computing policy issued by the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA). We extend our thanks to KFEOCH and Razen Events for their timely event to support our efforts and the efforts of government agencies in the transformation process towards Cloud computing."

Cloud Computing requires Exceptional Efforts to meet Challenges

Dr. Al-Hussaini commented on the challenges ahead, "We at CAIT realize that the transition towards Cloud computing requires much hard work and perseverance. While we know all these challenges, shifting towards Cloud computing is inevitable. It is the global trend for the future of the technology devices, equipment, systems, and software industry. In addition, it brings us as institutions, societies and countries great benefits in terms of financial savings and the ability to obtain operational and technological capabilities very quickly, possibly increasing or decreasing those capabilities as needed. Cloud computing also allows us to improve human resources capabilities and direct these towards developing the solutions that our businesses and services need. Finally, many technical support, maintenance, operation, backup systems, high reliability and cybersecurity services that we do today come bundled with Cloud computing offerings, let alone the effort and cost required to purchase these services separately and allocate human resources to handle them."

EGOV10 keeps pace with global trends and Kuwait Government programs

In turn, Eng. Bader Al-Salman, Chairman of KFEOCH, said, "We highly value the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Fahad Al-Shuala, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Communications Affairs, of EGOV10 and extend our sincere thanks for sponsoring its activities. We also thank His Excellency Dr. Ammar Al-Hussaini, Acting Director General of CAIT, for his constant support for the eGovernment Forum. We are always keen that the EGOV keeps pace with global technological trends and presents them to the Kuwaiti market at the right time. Cloud computing will have a major role during the work program implementation for 2023-2027 that the government recently submitted to the Kuwaiti people and their representatives. Digital transformation and the development of government services constituted an important part of the program. We realize that cloud computing will shape the future of data centers from now on. Therefore, we were keen to invite the global, regional and local Cloud computing vendors so we benefit from their products and expertise. Finally, we believe that Kuwait's development and progress are the responsibility of all of us and will benefit us all."

CAIT concluded its statement by thanking many global and local technology and consulting companies for supporting CAIT's mission. CAIT also invited Cloud vendors and service providers wishing to participate in EGOV10 and display their services and expertise in the accompanying exhibition to contact EGOV10 organizers. CAIT also urged government agencies to send their technical and administrative teams to participate in EGOV10, attend its sessions, and benefit from this specialized technological gathering.
