BEIJING, Aug 11, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti national judo team achieved impressive results on the first day of the Asian Open Championship for Youth and Juniors, held in the Macau Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

On Saturday, the team secured one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Abdullah Al-Daihani won gold in the over 90 kg weight class, while Khaled Al-Kandari earned silver in the under 60 kg weight class. Sultan Al-Otaibi and Hani Al-Shammari both claimed bronze medals in the under 50 kg and 73 kg weight classes, respectively.

Faisal Al-Hamad, treasurer of the Kuwait Judo Federation, expressed to KUNA that the national team's performance at this event mirrored the excellence they demonstrated at the recent West Asian Championship in Jordan.
