KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have managed to crack separate cases of theft and referred the suspects to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Rai daily. In the first case, when an Arab complained that 120,000 dinars worth of swimming pool equipment had been ‘stolen’ from his company in Souk Al Mubarakiya, during investigations it was found that the suspect was intending to leave the country and the CID men soon got an arrest warrant issued from the Public Prosecutor and arrested the suspect while he was trying to leave the country via the Kuwait International Airport.

When he was confronted with the charges slapped against him, he admitted to committing the theft and that he has been working for the shop for some time and that he committed the theft because of the money dispute between the owner of the store and him. He also admitted to changing the position of the CCTV cameras to facilitate the theft of the products. When asked about what he did with the stolen items, he said he gave part of the loot to his two friends and sold some of the goods worth 2,550 dinars.

In a second case, personnel from the Capital Investigations Department have arrested an Asian for stealing two vehicles from a house in Yarmouk. In the third case, personnel from the Jahra Governorate Investigation Department have arrested an Arab resident for stealing car parts and a power generator from the Al-Rahiah farmhouse
