KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: Sabahiya detectives successfully apprehended a thief who had been targeting cars parked in shopping malls and cooperative societies parking lots in the Ahmadi Governorate. According to a security source, the suspect was arrested in the Mangaf area while driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen, with various stolen items found inside.
The source explained that the spike in thefts from parked vehicles prompted authorities to launch an investigation. A dedicated team was formed, and their efforts led to identifying the suspect, who was found to have a criminal record. After securing a warrant from the Public Prosecution, an ambush was set up, and the thief was captured after a brief but intense struggle with the detectives.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to committing numerous thefts by breaking into vehicles and stealing their contents, some of which he had sold.
