Thieves Steal Copper Conductors Worth 3,800 Dinars, Damaging Power Lines

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 5: The Public Prosecutor has instructed the Jahra Criminal Investigation Department to pursue unidentified thieves who stole copper conductors valued at approximately 3,800 dinars from the Ministry of Electricity’s supply lines. The thieves also damaged several poles to remove the wires. Forensic experts were dispatched to the scene to collect any evidence the perpetrators may have left behind. The case has been classified as a felony under the title “Theft by Destruction of a Secure Property.”

According to the details, the legal representative of the Ministry of Electricity filed a report at a Jahra police station, stating that a malfunction had been detected in the power lines. Technicians were sent to investigate the issue and discovered that unknown thieves had stolen over 1,200 meters of copper conductors, damaged four poles, and taken the wires along with their extensions. The estimated value of the stolen materials was reported to be 3,794 dinars.

In a related incident, the legal representative of a company specializing in electrical panels reported to the Mutlaa Police Station that unidentified individuals had broken into one of the company’s transformers and cut and stolen 28 cables from inside it.

A case has been registered, and forensic technicians have been requested to visit the transformer site to gather any potential evidence left by the thieves.
