Smartphone app delays cause fingerprint attendance woes

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: On the second day of implementing the third fingerprint attendance system for employees in ministries and government agencies, several challenges have surfaced, particularly for those stationed at remote locations. The attendance system requires employees to register their second attendance two hours after the start of the workday, prompting many government agencies to seek guidance from the Civil Service Commission. These agencies are looking for solutions to the difficulties their employees face due to the incomplete rollout of smartphone applications, which would allow employees to verify their location and attendance remotely.

As a result, traffic congestion has been reported at various sites overseen by ministries and government agencies. This issue arises because a significant number of employees working in remote locations are forced to gather simultaneously at their respective offices/ministries to record their third fingerprint. The congestion is primarily due to the delayed implementation of the fingerprint verification feature on smartphone applications.
