KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: The exhilarating cycling race surged into action on Saturday morning, marking a thrilling highlight of Kuwait Sports Day. Held at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge, the event saw a massive turnout of enthusiastic riders and walkers, uniting sports lovers of all ages to celebrate fitness and competition. Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, officially signaled the start of the race. Mahmoud Abel, president of the Kuwait Sports for All Federation, also attended the event and was a member of the Supreme Organizing Committee for Kuwait Sports Day.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem participated in the cycling race for the second consecutive year, alongside former Minister Dawood Marafi. The event features a 20-kilometer cycling race, followed by a 5-kilometer walk, allowing participants to engage in a day of fitness and celebration. This year’s race saw an impressive turnout, with approximately 20,000 male and female participants, including athletes with special needs, emphasizing inclusivity and community engagement in Kuwait’s sports initiatives.
