KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: Kuwait’s General Department of Criminal Investigation has dismantled a criminal network accused of manufacturing and distributing locally produced liquor from a residential house in the Rehab area.

The Ministry of Interior said the operation followed intensive investigations and field surveillance, which led security personnel to identify and raid the property.

During the raid, authorities discovered approximately 300 containers of alcohol, each with a capacity of 25 liters.

Investigators found that the entire three-storey house had been converted into a manufacturing facility for producing and distributing locally made alcohol.

The operation also uncovered hazardous and highly flammable materials inside the property, posing a potential danger to neighbouring houses.

Given the safety risks, the authorities coordinated with the General Fire Force to secure the site and handle the flammable materials safely.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy was also contacted to disconnect the electricity supply in preparation for removing the illegal operation. Kuwait Municipality participated in the operation to issue the necessary citations and destroy the seized items.

The ministry said the necessary legal measures had been taken against the accused, who were referred to the competent authorities.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring locations suspected of being used for criminal activities, apprehending those involved and taking the necessary legal action to protect public security and safety.
