KUWAIT CITY, Mar 4: The Kuwait Meteorological Department has forecasted a period of unsettled weather, with rain expected to affect the country from Tuesday through Saturday afternoon. The rainfall will occur at intermittent intervals, peaking on Thursday and Friday, and will vary in intensity from light to moderate, with the possibility of heavy, thundery downpours in some areas. Dharar Al-Ali, Director of the Meteorological Department, informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the rain will be accompanied by light to moderate easterly to southeasterly winds. These winds are expected to strengthen starting early Wednesday morning, potentially causing dust storms and reducing horizontal visibility, particularly in exposed regions.
The department anticipates that the rain and cloud cover will gradually diminish by Saturday afternoon. However, dense fog is likely to form in some areas on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, potentially impacting visibility. Al-Ali urged citizens and residents to stay updated on the latest weather developments by regularly checking the department’s official website and smartphone application. He emphasized the importance of monitoring weather bulletins, especially during periods of fluctuating conditions, and advised the public to heed any weather warnings that may be issued.
Residents are encouraged to exercise caution, particularly during heavy rain, thunderstorms, and reduced visibility due to dust or fog. The Meteorological Department will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
