NEW YORK, July 16: Bella Thomson, known to her millions of TikTok followers as Bella Brave, has passed away at the age of 10. Her mother, Kyla Thomson, confirmed the news on Monday, stating that Bella died peacefully on Sunday.
"Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold July 14th, 2024 at 4:19 p.m. ET," Kyla shared on TikTok, accompanied by a poignant video of Bella dancing to "Never Enough" from "The Greatest Showman."
"Bella passed peacefully in our arms," Kyla continued. "Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive, and her bravery in your hearts. Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or kept you brave."
"Bella would want you to remember; God is love, be brave and you are never too old to bring a stuffy," Kyla added, alongside a teddy bear emoji.
Bella Brave, who faced health challenges including a form of dwarfism, Hirschsprung’s disease, and severe combined immunodeficiency, had been documented by her mother's TikTok, where she amassed over 7 million followers. Recently, Bella was in a medically induced coma at SickKids Hospital in Toronto due to complications from a lung infection.
"We are not out of the woods. We are, of course, gutted for Bella," Kyla told People on July 11. "Her bowel transplant last August was supposed to be the last medical trauma she would ever have to endure."
In the days leading up to her passing, Kyla updated Bella's health status on TikTok, where she shared the community's outpouring of support and prayers.
"Bella is stable & intubated in the ICU," Kyla wrote last week. "They’ve told us they don’t know if she’ll survive this. I know she will. I know she has an army praying for her."
Bella Brave's resilience and spirit touched many, including actor Ryan Reynolds, who visited her in the hospital after her bowel transplant surgery last December. A video of Bella with Reynolds garnered over 3 million likes on TikTok, showcasing their heartwarming interaction.
Bella is survived by her parents, Kyla and Lyle, and her younger brother Waylon, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and joy that resonated deeply with her followers and all who knew her story.
