KUWAIT CITY, March 3: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Criminal Court, which refrained from punishing a famous actor who was accused of posting footage on his Snapchat account that showed him dancing in an indecent manner. The court obligated him to sign a pledge of good conduct for two years on bail. The General Department of Combating Cybercrimes held investigations with the accused, who is a social media celebrity, on charges of misusing his smartphone to post indecent footage that violated public morals and offended public decency.
Representing the actor was Lawyer Inaam Haidar who confirmed that her client did not post anything that offended public decency. She stressed that he is a theater actor known for performing dance shows, which led him to post footage of himself dancing. If her client had believed the footage was immoral or in violation of the law, he could have posted it on a fake account instead.
