KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: The Chairman of the Kuwait Shooting Club, Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi announced that the annual His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Shooting Championship, featuring a significant turnout of shooters from Kuwait, the Gulf, and Arab nations, will kick off next Saturday. He hailed the event as the perfect way to launch the club's new sports season for 2024/2025.

At a press conference held at the club's headquarters, Al-Otaibi, who also leads the championship's organizing committee, outlined that the competition will encompass all Olympic shooting disciplines for both men and women. These include shotgun shooting events—“skeet” and “trap”—as well as lead shooting categories for “pistol” and “rifle,” and archery events in both “composite” and “Olympic” styles.

Al-Otaibi noted the significance of the occasion, as the club will also host the Arab Championship for shotgun shooting (skeet and trap), featuring top Arab shooters in both the men’s and women’s categories. He emphasized that Kuwaiti athletes are well-prepared to compete in both this prestigious championship and the Arab tournament, aiming to secure impressive results.

He highlighted that the club organizes two major annual events: the "HH the Amir" International Grand Shooting Championship and the "HH the Crown Prince" Championship. Al-Otaibi expressed his gratitude for the generous support from the political leadership, which has empowered Kuwaiti shooting sports to achieve numerous accolades in international, continental, and regional competitions.

Furthermore, he informed that the organizing committee has made extensive preparations at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, which will host the tournament. He thanked the Public Authority for Sports and other relevant state agencies for their assistance in facilitating the organization of this important sporting event.

The club’s secretary and tournament director, Obaid Al-Osaimi, added during the press conference that the committee has been diligently preparing for this major tournament, which is a point of pride for the Kuwaiti shooting community. He acknowledged the efforts of all committee members, particularly those involved in officiating, organizing competitions, and managing the event's logistics.

Regarding the Arab Championship, Al-Osaimi, who also serves as Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Shooting Sports, explained that it will take place concurrently with the Crown Prince Championship. He emphasized the significance of this event, noting the participation of prominent Arab shooters, including five representatives from Kuwait, and expressed confidence that both championships will showcase high levels of competition across various disciplines.
