Traffic campaign results: Over 22,000 violations and 1,476 accidents

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: The General Traffic Department has conducted extensive campaigns resulting in the issuance of 22,033 various traffic violations and the arrest of 26 juveniles driving their parents’ vehicles without a license. These juveniles were referred to juvenile prosecution, and their guardians were summoned. Additionally, 24 violators were detained for committing serious offenses, including driving with expired vehicle license plates, as reported by Al-Anba newspaper.

According to the weekly statistics of the General Traffic Department for the period from May 26 to 31, 96 vehicles and 9 motorcycles were impounded for violations such as illegal tinting. Traffic officers also seized 17 wanted vehicles involved in cases of breach of trust or judicial orders, 15 vehicles sought for civil or criminal execution, and 8 absent vehicles. Seven individuals wanted in absentia, five individuals for possession of narcotic drugs, and one person for witnessed theft were arrested during these operations.

The statistics further revealed that there were 1,476 traffic accidents last week, including 246 serious incidents. The department’s efforts underscore its commitment to maintaining road safety and enforcing traffic laws.
