Countrywide campaigns launched

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30, (Agencies): The traffic sector continues to pursue juveniles who drive their relatives’ vehicles without a driver’s license, in addition to arresting those who do not comply with the traffic law, reports Al-Anba daily. The campaigns launched by the sector throughout the country resulted in the issuance of 24,482 violations and the arrest of 53 juveniles for driving their relatives’ vehicles without a driver’s license, and referred them to the Juvenile Prosecution. During the campaign 53 violators were arrested for committing serious violations, and they were referred to General Traffic Department.

The campaigns that started on Jan 22 and continued until January 28, resulted in the arrest of 9 wanted persons, 67 vehicles were impounded and towed to the ministry’s garage, 28 motorbikes and 15 vehicles wanted by judicial authorities or wanted pending cases have also been seized. On the other hand, the General Traffic Department announced as of Saturday vehicular traffic has been diverted from the Third Ring Road to Cairo Street, and then back to the Third Ring Road through a reverse detour, in order to facilitate the construction of a new tunnel.
