KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: The General Traffic Department and the Police Department, reported 58,231 traffic violations over eight days, between January 11 and January 17, the General Traffic Department recorded 48,104 violations across various governorates. Authorities arrested 50 reckless drivers, referred 27 juveniles to the Public Prosecution, and impounded 77 motorcycles and 204 vehicles. Additionally, 1,150 traffic accidents were reported, and 51 individuals wanted in other cases were apprehended.
Meanwhile, from January 12 to January 18, the Emergency Police Department conducted 1,415 security and traffic operations, recording 10,127 violations, including 36 illegal parking cases in spaces designated for people with special needs. Authorities also arrested 29 drug dealers, who were referred to the competent authorities for further action. These figures highlight Kuwait's ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws and maintain public safety.
