KUWAIT CITY, April 23: The Ministry of Interior has succeeded in implementing the new Traffic Law, considering that citizens and expatriates appear to be more committed to respecting the law. The ministry announced a 71 percent decrease in automatically recorded violations on the first day of the implementation of the new law. As part of efforts to enhance traffic discipline and raise the level of road safety; statistics issued by the General Traffic Department in the ministry showed a remarkable decrease in the number of violations detected by automated cameras on Tuesday. The statistics revealed that the number of violations decreased by 71 percent, compared to the violations recorded on April 15. The violations include not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, disregarding lane line signs and turning against traffic.
