KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: It is surprising that 42 motorists of both sexes in Kuwait cross the red light every hour, that is, an average of 1,000 people per day commit this grave violation thus exposing their lives and the lives of other motorists to danger which more often not lead to death, reports Al-Qabas daily.

This is what informed security sources revealed to Al-Qabas, confirming that direct and indirect red traffic violations since the beginning of the current year 2023 and until the end of last August amounted to about 240,000 violations. The sources said men accounted for about 65% of the total of these violations, while females committed about 26% of them, and 9% of the violations were registered against companies.

The sources indicated that direct violations for jumping the red light amounted to about 40,000 violations, while indirect violations amounted to about 200,000 violations. The sources stressed that the instructions issued by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, are clear and explicit not to tolerate perpetrators of serious violations who endanger lives, and to take the harshest penalties against them.
