KUWAIT CITY, June 13: Kuwait Municipality announced today, Tuesday, the entry into force of the joint cooperation agreement with the National Bank of Kuwait to develop the Shuwaikh Beach project, in cooperation with the Arab Office for Engineering Consultations. The Municipality said in a press statement after the inaugural meeting between the three parties that this agreement comes within the framework of the Municipality’s strategy to consolidate partnership with all parties in the country, in which the National Bank of Kuwait contributed KD 3 million to develop a part of Shuwaikh Beach at a distance of 1.7 kilometers over a period of one year 17 months
Implementation
During the meeting, Deputy Director General for Projects Sector Affairs at Kuwait Municipality Maysa Boushahri stressed the importance of supporting Kuwait Vision 2035 through the implementation of many projects in support of the state’s development plan in implementation of the royal directives. Boushahri said that the project aims to create a new environment of tourism projects, entertainment and sports services in a location that enjoys attractive vitality, noting that the Municipality continues to develop waterfronts in various regions of the country. For his part, Izzat Halal, General Manager of the Engineering Affairs Group at the National Bank of Kuwait, stated that the implementation period of the project will be in two phases.
Halal added that the project consists of 4 main areas, as the first area includes sports stadiums, recreational facilities and a wide green area, while a sandy beach area has been allocated in the second area, while the third area is a closed garden with green spaces, while the fourth area consists of paths designated for walking and bicycles. For his part, CEO of the Arab Office for Engineering Consultations, Tariq Shuaib, affirmed the office’s keenness to implement local development plans and their interest in strengthening the operational processes and infrastructure of the engineering and construction consultancy sectors in Kuwait, expressing his pride in participating in this project.
